Policies, Standards, and Procedures

The following information technology policies, standards, and procedures are designed to aid the University in fulfilling its missions in a safe and secure manner. These documents are meant to help inform the University community of safe computing practices and to ensure that applicable laws and regulations are being followed.  

  • Policies are formal, high-level, rules that define the goals, objectives, and acceptable procedures or behaviors for a specified subject area.
  • Standards are mandatory actions or rules designed to support and conform to a policy.
  • Procedures describe the details of how to implement a standard or policy.
