Akron Branch AAUW Scholarship
The Akron Branch American Association of University Women Scholarship was established in December 2005 to provide financial assistance to deserving women enrolled as full-time students at The University of Akron. AAUW was founded in 1881 as a catalyst for change, and it continues to support projects that shape the future for women and girls. The Akron Branch was established in December 1926 through the leadership of Edith Grace Cray, a 1923 graduate of The University of Akron. The mission of AAUW today is to promote equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. This scholarship has been established to help women reach their academic goals in either undergraduate or graduate programs. Recipients will be selected by the AAUW Scholarship Committee in coordination with The University of Akron’s Office of Student Financial Assistance.
