Kenyon, Robert G. Endowed Scholarship

The Robert G. Kenyon Endowed Scholarship was established in 2018 by Mr. Robert G. Kenyon, Jr., alumnus of The University of Akron. Mr. Kenyon has a passion for the University, as well as for Boy Scouts of America, and he wanted to give back to his alma mater by supporting scouts seeking a college education.

Born and raised in Ashtabula County, Robert Kenyon earned a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry from The University of Akron in 1981. Prior to attending ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·, Mr. Kenyon completed an Associate Degree in Arts at Lakeland Community College in 1978. Mr. Kenyon spent his career working in the chemistry field and retired as Senior Research Chemist at Ricerca Incorporated in 2001.

His younger years were spent as a Boy Scout instilling a readiness in mind and body to do his duty, and he has been a Boy Scouts of America volunteer for 49 years. Mr. Kenyon earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1971, and is doing a good turn by supporting students at The University of Akron.

The Robert G. Kenyon Endowed Scholarship is to be awarded to full-time students at The University of Akron who demonstrate strong academic merit, possess a strong moral compass and exhibit a dedication to community service. Preference will be given to students who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; reside in one of the following counties: Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga, Lorain, Erie and Huron; and are pursuing a degree in Chemistry. The scholarship can be renewed each year until graduation, provided student recipients maintain good academic standing. Recipients will be determined by the University Scholarship Committee.
