Harwood, G. Maxine and H. James Harwood Endowed Scholarship in Polymer Science
The endowed G. Maxine Harwood and H. James Harwood Endowed Scholarship in Polymer Science was established in 1996 in honor of G. Maxine Harwood and Professor H. James Harwood in recognition of their 65th birthdays. It was established to encourage third- or fourth-year undergraduate students in the sciences at The University of Akron to pursue study in polymer science. Funds to support this scholarship are administered by the Department of Polymer Science; applicants must demonstrate their commitment to pursue continued studies in polymer science to their respective department heads and subsequently be recommended to the chair of the Department of Polymer Science by April 1. Funds for this award were provided by Professor Harwood's former students, corporate associates, and friends.
