Kitarich, Peter A. and Carol J. Endowed Scholarship
The Peter A. and Carol J. Kitarich Endowed Scholarship was established in 2018 by The June D. Kitarich Living Trust. The scholarship fund was created by June Kitarich in loving tribute to her son, Peter Allen Kitarich, and her daughter, Carol Jeanne Kitarich. A native of Kenmore, Ohio, Mrs. Kitarich was a dedicated member of the Kenmore and Barberton communities. She worked at Kenmore and Barberton Libraries, Firestone Bank as a bookkeeper, and was a member of Goss Memorial Church. Mrs. Kitarich’s brother, Alfred Ray Seese, Jr., and her son, Peter, graduated from The University of Akron in 1943 and 1974/75, respectively.
The Peter A. and Carol J. Kitarich Endowed Scholarship is directed to qualified full-time undergraduates enrolled in the College of Engineering. With an emphasis towards degree completion by rewarding students with scholastic achievement, superior character and leadership, this scholarship is renewable as long as recipients remain in good academic standing.
Scholarships are awarded annually and applied directly to student accounts. Award amounts and number of recipients may vary depending on available funds. Recipients will be selected by The College of Engineering in collaboration with the Office of Student Financial Aid.
