Family Helping Family Emergency Fund
The Family Helping Family Emergency Fund is an emergency fund created by gifts from current University of Akron faculty, staff, and contract professionals. Recognizing that students and their families are facing unexpected financial hardships, faculty and staff wanted to create a “safety net” for students who would otherwise have to leave school when hardships arise. The Family Helping Family Emergency Fund is one to which students could apply for small assistance awards to help meet unforeseen needs. The emergency fund may be managed by the Office of Student Affairs, and awards may be distributed to students who are referred to the emergency fund by faculty, staff, or contract professional employees of ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·. Contributions to the Family Helping Family Emergency Fund primarily come from University of Akron employees through outright gifts, payroll deductions, and designations of United Way funds.
