Permanently endowed in 1995 by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation of Miami, Fla., The John S. Knight Lectureship Fund honors the memory of John S. Knight, builder of the Knight-Ridder newspaper empire. The purpose of the lectureship is to bring to The University of Akron a distinguished speaker who will deliver an address annually on a topic of current meaning and value.
